Gertrude Abbott Aged Care is one of our largest Aged Care facilties, providing exceptional personal care and a home like environment for up to 100 residents. Conveniently located in the heart of Sydney- Surry Hills, close to public transport, shopping and restaurants. We are looking for experienced RN’s, with strong clinical & medication skills and some exposure to and interest in people management to join our team on a causal basis.

About the role:

We are offering this current postion as an opportunity to build on your established nursing career and pusure a long-term career in aged care. It is essential that you can lead by example through the provision of high quality resident- centred care. Responsible for managing a team of staff, you will also be primarily responsible for the clinical care of our residents during your shift. You will be a team-player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively within a team environment. You will need to have the ability to efficiently communicate and document important information including care and medication plans.

This is very rewarding role, you will be surrounded by a team of experienced clinical carers and nursing staff. You will also have access to your Residential Manager and support from other centralized departments within the organisation. We also offer opportunities for further training and development and this role has the potential to have a succession plan towards a care manager and/ or residential manager role pathway.

To be successful for the role:

  • Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Strong clinical skills including medication and wound dressing
  • Experience in collation of ACFI submissions and requirements and accreditation process in Aged care
  • Passionate about making a difference for our residents, families and staff
  • Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse
  • Team- orientated with experience leading a team of care workers
