Lourdes Hospital and Community Health Service (Lourdes) is a third schedule, not-for-profit teaching hospital funded by NSW Ministry of Health and Managed by Catholic Healthcare. Lourdes has a long history of providing excellent care to the Dubbo and greater region.  An exciting opportunity now exists for a Rural Spinal Cord Injury Coordinator to join our dedicated team on a permanent part time basis working 19 hours each week.

About the role:

As the Rural Spinal Cord Injury Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing spinal outreach support to NSW Western Local Health District (LHD) residents with spinal cord injury and relevant clinicians and service providers in the area. This role will involve overseeing this regional area, as part of the Statewide Rural Spinal Cord Injury/Spinal Outreach Service with the hub based in Sydney. You will take charge of Client care coordination and management, support of the State Service Clinic Outreach model and facilitating education and support to clinicians in the Western LHD.

To be successful for the role:

  • Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or allied health clinician or for social workers membership of the AASW.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in the management of spinal cord injury or similar neurological conditions either in a community or inpatient setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including computer proficiency
  • Current NSW Drivers license
  • Ability to work independently with proven high-level problem solving and analytical skills
  • High level of interpersonal/ negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with client, carers and local service providers
  • Capacity and willingness to travel for work purposes throughout the Western LHD region.
